Leather and Vinyl Cleaner; Granite Countertop Polish; Metal, Wood, and Glass Products
Many leather cleaning products contain waxes, oils or silicones that form a coating on leather surfaces, sealing out moisture and breaking down the finish until cracks and pre-mature wear begin to show on the surface. Overuse of conditioners can be similarly destructive, as they tend to attract dust and dry leather out by impregnating the natural structure of the leather with synthetic chemicals and leaving behind an oily residue. Using baby wipes to clean leather furniture is also misguided, as the alkaline cleaners in the wipes (intended to neutralize the acid in urine) destroy leather finishes.
Using a water-based cleaner to remove dirt and oils is the safest, most effective leather cleaner. Most leather cleaners will not remove ink or other stains unless a good leather protector has been used on a regular basis – the “scotch-guard” effect inhibits absorption of dirt and stains to facilitate easier removal of such marks in the future.
Granite is tougher and more resilient than most countertop materials. Its highly tolerant of hot pots and pans, and is highly stain-resistant. Granite countertops can, however, become cloudy and stained following the use of cleaners that strip the seal and leave the porous surface of the granite exposed.
Aside from periodic re-sealing of the granite, everyday cleaning care of granite countertops requires, judicious use of granite countertop cleaner which is non-abrasive and formulated with a neutral pH.
Furniture sparkles following application of oil polish. Oil, however, does attract and mix with dust leading to more frequent and increasingly difficult cleaning. Polish should not be applied more than three to four times a year, as excess can produce a cloudy film and darken the wood over time. Polishing wood is generally ideal where high aesthetic appeal is a priority, as with museums or corporate offices.
Cleaning wood furniture with a formulation that includes a wax component is best in conventional everyday applications. These products both clean and create a surface coating on the wood that will helps to repel dust.
While soap or a mild detergent mixed with warm water will generally suffice for routine cleaning, and a dull finish or modest lime deposits may be removed with a solution of vinegar and water, stubborn stains such as oil or grease deposits, discoloration, and scratches will require specially formulated cleaners. In choosing the right cleaner, the properties of your surface must be kept in mind. Aluminum, for instance, can be permanently scratched by abrasive cleaners such as scouring powders, steel wool, abrasive polishes and discolored by alkali cleaners as mild as baking soda. Similarly, stainless steel cleaner that is excessively concentrated can cause corrosion.
Brass is particularly susceptible to tarnish. Brass cleaning solutions must therefore include with any detergent component, ingredients which impart a chemical barrier between the bare metal and the air to inhibit the oxidation process from re-occurring once tarnish has been removed.
Today’s complex environmental and industrial conditions ensure that windows become dirtier faster. Glass is porous, and can absorb the multitude of contaminants with which is comes into contact every day, from the minerals in building materials such as limestone, brick, or cement which can leach onto the glass surface after a rainfall, to the calcium and salt deposits which accumulate from a sprinkler placed to close to a window.
An effective window cleaner must be capable of removing from the glass surface all acid, dirt, chemicals and other such contaminants. An overall cleaning regimen should include a repellent that imposes a barrier to soils, and seals the pores of the glass to make the window a more resilient surface which contaminants cannot impregnate.
There is no miracle product that will clean any type soil from any type of surface. The average all purpose cleaner has a pH in the neutral range of 7 to 8 so that it can be used in numerous applications without fear of harming sensitive surfaces such as aluminum or the no-wax floor. Certain applications, however, particularly in the realm of commercial and industrial cleaning, require more specialized solutions. A truly effective degreaser used in kitchen cleaning, for example should be an alkaline formulation, whereas comprehensive removal of mineral-based deposits, such as accumulated uric salts in a washroom will require an acid-based cleaner.
Where a light duty multi surface cleaner is desired and practical, Enzyme, Citrus and Oxygen-based formulations are ideal options. The natural composition of these cleaning products make them well-suited to repeated use as many of the irritants found in synthetic multi surface cleaners are avoided. As one might expect of a product derived from nature, ECO cleaners are also exceptionally versatile, both in terms of what they can clean and where they can be applied.

Digester: Harnesses the power of naturally-occurring enzymes to systematically eliminate grease, organic waste and the odors such deposits cause.
As an enzyme stain remover: Digester can be sprayed onto the toughest stains from pet urine to blood, to grease, causing such blemishes to literally disintegrate as impurities are systematically broken down and consumed. The natural formulation can be sprayed directly onto stained carpets and laundry.
As an odor inhibitor: Peerless among house deodorizers and bathroom deodorizers. While conventional deodorizers are commonly sprayed into the air, Digester is sprayed directly onto the source of the problem, where it deactivates odors on contact.
As an enzyme drain cleaner: Organic debris such as fat, starch, food waste, uric acid crystals, soap scum and hair build-up accumulate in drains causing bad odors and slow-running drains, with the ultimate result being ultimately blockages requiring emergency service. Digester can not only remedy such blockages, but used regularly, can actually prevent them.
Powerful formulation neutralizes the most putrid odors, liquifies and digests the most severe grease accumulations, and removes almost indelible stains, yet is completely safe for both user and environment. Digester is nonpathogenic, non-toxic, non-caustic, and non-corrosive.
